Our neighbors got a new puppy. One afternoon she fell asleep with her head in my friend's hand. I immediately picked up my camera.

Before:

It was the sweetest picture, but it was slightly fuzzy.

After:

I simply sharpened it! It made such a difference!

I really wanted the blossoms to pop, so first I sharpened the photo, then increased the brightness and contrast.

I've been experimenting lately with layers. The original was lovely, but it seemed too vivid. I wanted a more relaxed feel. To get this effect, all I did was add a layer with a sand pattern and mess with the opacity. It was very easy and I love the result. It's just what I was after to get the right mood.

It looks so relaxing as a black-and-white photo, doesn't it? All I did was desaturate it, then increase the contrast a smidge.
